Day 14………………….. Lessons

Today upon arriving at the orphanage we were immediately whisked into the Orphanage Physician’s office to discuss the results of some medical tests that were run last week. After our meeting, we went to visit with Angela. We were deeply moved as we found her curled up in a chair by the window sobbing………. When we asked her why she was crying, she explained that she didn’t think we were coming back to see her……. It was only then that we fully realized the very fragile state she lives in……………….

Through many tears, hugs and translation we explained that we were very very sorry. That we had to meet with the doctor, but we now realize that we shouldn’t have left her suspended. It was heartbreaking to see her in this condition and realize that we, the two people that love her the most in the world, had caused her this pain.

The innocence and sweetness of this little girl offered immediate forgiveness and we were able to visit for a while……… Today we learned one of many valuable lessons in this journey of international adoption.

- the first of many reassurances but she will soon learn she is in the care of two very loving people. If you were here now, you'd be curled up under a blanket watching the snow/ice/traffic play out their usual winter battles. Kirk and Jo

Lessons in life are usualy taught by the littlest of ones. Their faith, their innocence and their zest for life is amazing. As it teaches us to be gentle, loving and full of life. A life that has no boundaries on love. How can we not have our eyes opened by these little ones. God has blessed these little ones. We all need to have a child like faith and hope.

Blessings as your eyes are open to unimaginable happiness and lessons.

Notes you have sent are super informative with great detail and progress. Looking forward to the grand finally. Angela sounds like a real trooper and will adjust well to Cincy living. All is well and cold here - no school today.

Miss you, love mother

That is really sad. She is so fragile. Have you heard anything more about court time? We are very anxious and looking forward to having Angela here in the states. It won't be long and she won't have that fear of losing you.

Pam, This totally breaks my heart. We had to leave our son for 30 days. They said he looked for us every day. Of course he was only a toddler, but it was still hard. It is wonderful that she has already started the bonding process in such a short time. I know ya'll will be such a wonderful family.

Wow, what an experience for all of you. Reading your blog is liking watching a mini series. Thanks for keeping up the blog so faithfully.

Now on to the truly important stuff. Len, congratulations on winning Saturday's BPSB. Next up is this Wednesday with St. John's. We need a number from you.

I look forward to hear much more about the experience when you get back to Cincy and also meeting Angela.
